Boasting of Nick
Good day to the women and men before me!
I am the almighty Nick, friend of all.
Brought to be by the basins of my mother, Khue,
Whose father is the almighty admiral of the whale-road.
Son of the mighty tree-bender, William
And Grandson of the wise knowledge-giver, Charles.
I hail as my home the land of Harahan,
Under the province of New Orleans.
Academics have been the stronghold on which I have thrived.
Years of book-learning have bided me well!
Whips, whacks, and wallops have plagued me,
Yet I have kept strong my wall of letter A’s!
But schooling has not been the only achievement of my life,
For I am the champion of many a different sport.
In the game of the brown pigskin I have become champion of
the concrete-jungle!
Many a game I guarded the goal of our team from infiltration,
Stealing the air-rock out of the sky from skilled warriors.
Undefeated our team became despite the worries of many!
The game of pigskin is not my only achievement in sports.
I have also thrived in the bouncing game of net-ball.
I would grab the orange-sun out the air and
return it to its rightful owner!
Sacrificing my body to protect our land, we won the title of
district champions!
My strength and determination have helped me in these
achievements and push me to more!
In the future I intend to become a player of professional
pigskin!
And finish the school of higher learning.
I shall train hard for many years and dedicate myself to the
pigskin and academics!
Children of the next generation will praise and admire me!
They will wear my name on their backs!
I shall change the face of the very game I love,
Shaping my legacy into timeless stories!
